Mata kuliah Teknik Korosi dan Proteksi Katodik membahas prinsip dasar dan mekanisme terjadinya korosi pada material teknik sipil berdasarkan konsep elektrokimia serta interaksinya dengan lingkungan seperti tanah, air, dan atmosfer. Mahasiswa akan menganalisis jenis-jenis korosi, dampaknya terhadap kinerja dan umur layan struktur, serta mengevaluasi risiko kegagalan infrastruktur akibat degradasi material. Selain itu, mata kuliah ini menekankan kemampuan merancang dan menghitung sistem pengendalian korosi, khususnya proteksi katodik (anoda korban dan impressed current), sesuai dengan standar teknis yang berlaku. Pembelajaran diarahkan pada penguatan kemampuan analitis dan problem solving dalam merumuskan solusi teknis yang efektif, ekonomis, dan berkelanjutan untuk perlindungan struktur teknik sipil.
The Cathodic Corrosion and Protection Engineering course discusses the basic principles and mechanisms of corrosion in civil engineering materials based on electrochemical concepts and their interaction with the environment such as soil, water, and atmosphere. Students will analyze the types of corrosion, their impact on the performance and service life of the structure, and evaluate the risk of infrastructure failure due to material degradation. In addition, this course emphasizes the ability to design and calculate corrosion control systems, especially cathodic protection (victim anodes and impressed current), in accordance with applicable technical standards. Learning is directed at strengthening analytical and problem solving skills in formulating effective, economical, and sustainable technical solutions for the protection of civil engineering structures.
